Wednesday through Sunday. Dinner tends to be the most popular meal of choice, but I can also take you through a brunch or lunch experience, dependent on availability.
You can book up to three months in advance.
Ideally, I need at least seven days’ notice so I have enough time to plan your menu, source ingredients and prep properly. If you’re in a pinch, feel free to ask anyway. If I can make it work, I will.
Right now, I’m booking private dinners for up to eight guests. Depending on the situation I may be able to accommodate additonal diners upon request, just shoot an email to hello@brendoncooks.com or leave a note in your inquiry form and I'll see what I can do.
Smaller groups are absolutely welcome too. I’m not going to turn away a great dinner just because there are only two of you. A minimum booking spend of $400 will apply.
Think fine dining without the uptight atmosphere.
I want the food to feel elevated, but I don’t want the night to feel stiff. My goal is for you to get chef-driven dining in your own home, while still feeling relaxed enough to laugh, have a drink and actually enjoy the people you invited over.
I’ll explain dishes when it makes sense, but I’m not there to give you a ten-minute monologue about the emotional journey behind a carrot puree.
Before your dinner, we’ll have a consultation where I’ll ask about your likes, dislikes, textures you hate, ingredients you absolutely do not want to see, and anything you’d love to include.
From there, I’ll build the menu around you.
My approach is much more “what’s off limits?” than “tell me exactly what you want.” It gives me room to be creative while still making sure you’re excited about what ends up on the table.
Brunch is $115 per person. Pricing for lunch and dinner starts at $135 per person for a three-course meal and is based on the experience you build. Your total may change depending on any extras you add, like cocktail pairings, premium ingredients or special menu enhancements, plus travel if your booking is outside my included service area.
Of course I do.
Cocktails are one of my favourite parts of the experience, so I’ll be offering a cocktail pairing add-on for groups who want to take the dinner a step further.
The standard pairing will provide two cocktails per guest, and mocktails will always be available for anyone who doesn’t drink. We’ll talk about your preferences during the consultation too, whether you like things sweet, balanced, citrusy, spirit-forward, or somewhere in between.
I’ll bring most of what I need to cook, but I do need a few basics from you:
A working stove and ovenFridge spaceFreezer space if neededAn empty sinkAt least four feet of clear counter spaceOne free electrical outletAn empty garbage can
Nothing too crazy. I just need enough room to do my job without moving your toaster, air fryer, coffee machine and three weeks’ worth of dishes first.
I do!
I’ll be bringing my own plateware and silverware because presentation matters to me, and I want the food to look as good as it tastes.
For cocktail service, I’ll ask you to provide the glassware and ice.
Yes, as every private dining experience is entirely customized.
I can currently accommodate things like:Gluten-freeDairy-freeVegetarianVeganPescatarianAllergies
The more I know ahead of time, the better. Please be very upfront about any allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions during the booking process so I can plan around them properly.
Yes.
There are a number of areas around Winnipeg where I’ll travel with no additional fee, and I’m also open to bookings farther out for an added travel cost.
That includes everything from nearby communities to select weekend bookings in places like Gimli, Falcon Lake, Lac du Bonnet and Riding Mountain.
If you’re outside Winnipeg, send me your location and I’ll let you know what applies.
Absolutely.
I’ll clean as I go, clear the table between courses, wash my own dishes and cutlery, wipe down counters, box up any extra food and leave the kitchen in as good of shape as I found it, if not better.
A 50% deposit will be required to secure your private dining experience.
The remaining 50% is due five days before your dinner.
